In Nutley, garden centers are busiest on spring weekends, when new stock arrives and popular plants sell out; weekday mornings are calmer and staff have more time to answer questions. Ask which plants are hardy for your USDA zone in New Jersey, whether trees and shrubs carry a replacement guarantee (one year is common), and whether the nursery delivers and plants large items. Fall is the best planting season for many trees and perennials, and end-of-season sales are common. Many nurseries close or shorten hours in winter, so check the listing for current hours and Google rating before you go.

Great selection of plants, this is always my go-to nursery every year for any annuals that I may need. My only problem with it this year is that there were no prices posted, so I didn't get as much as I would normally get because I had no idea how much anything cost.

Everything we purchased from Centre Ridge both survived and thrived; their plants are healthy and high quality. The staff has always been helpful and able to advise which are the best selections for our garden.

Always a really Great selection of plants and not your typical varieties. They are very expensive though so come prepared to spend. That said, quality is amazing.
